Jane Doe Inc. celebrates White Ribbon Day 2008

For the first time in Massachusetts, White Ribbon Day was observed in solidarity with international efforts to call upon men to be apart of a movement to end men's violence against women. A state-wide coalition, formally known as Jane Doe Inc.,sought to bring awareness and change to growing issues of gender based violence, domestic violence and sexual assault by sponsoring White Ribbon Day 2008. The event was tremendously successful, as it brought together community organizations, activists, and high-profile political figures to take a stand against the societal norms that uphold and propagate actions pertaining to violence against women. The momentum generated from the event elevated the consciousness around a very deeply rooted problem, and instilled a sense of urgency to engage men and boy in how to be agents for creating healthy relationships and families.
